CO2 emissions, in Kazakhstan in 2022, have grown 10.664 megatons, 4.53% compared to 2021.
CO2 emissions in 2022 were 245.886 megatons, making Kazakhstan is the 158th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Kazakhstan, have increased in 2022, in which they have been 12.85 tons per inhabitant.
Kazakhstan belongs to the group of countries that emit the most CO2 per inhabitant.
If you look at evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Kazakhstan, has emitted 0.48 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, more than in 2021.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have decreased in the last ten years, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
However, in the last five years total emissions have increased, as have emissions per capita, then the situation in the short term is getting worse.Click on the following link to see the ranking of CO2 emissions by countries and in the Economy of Kazakhstan to see all the information we publish about Kazakhstan.
