The employed are defined as persons, aged 16 years or older, who work (or have worked during the week prior to the week in which the survey is conducted) for at least one hour in exchange for financial remuneration.
The employed may be self-employed or employed by others. Another possible way of classifying the employed is according to the length of the working day. We speak of full-time employees when they work more than 30 hours per week; if they work fewer hours, they are part-time employees.
