In 2010 occurred 1,570 suicides in Zimbabwe. This year, 15 more people committed suicide than in 2009. In 2010, on average 4 Zimbabweans committed suicide every day.

Zimbabwe had 12.72 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.89 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,570 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 1,165 were men suicides and 405 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.31 per 100,000 men and for women 5.94 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Zimbabwe suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 711 homicides in Zimbabwe, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.2 suicides.
