There are 18 suicides per day in Viet Nam

By 2012, suicides in Viet Nam increased by 68 people to at 6,393 suicides In 2012, on average 18 Vietnamese committed suicide every day.

In Viet Nam there were 7.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.87 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 6,393 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 4,765 were men suicides and 1,628 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.83 per 100,000 men and for women 3.59 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Viet Nam suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,358 homicides in Viet Nam, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.7 suicides.
