Of the 39,442 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 30,946 were men suicides and 8,496 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.2 per 100,000 men and for women 5.4 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United States suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 14,661 homicides in United States, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.7 suicides.
