There are 28 suicides per day in Ukraine

In 2011 around 10,121 suicides occurred in Ukraine, 153 less than in 2010. In 2011, on average 28 Ukrainians committed suicide every day.

Ukraine reported 22.27 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.

Ukraine has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 10,121 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 8,199 were men suicides and 1,923 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 39.08 per 100,000 men and for women 7.85 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Ukraine suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,988 homicides in Ukraine, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.1 suicides.
