There are 28 suicides per day in Ukraine

In 2010 occurred 10,274 suicides in Ukraine. This year, 880 fewer people committed suicide than in 2009. In 2010, on average 28 Ukrainians committed suicide every day.

Ukraine had 22.53 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.89 suicides per 100,000 people.

Ukraine has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 10,274 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 8,460 were men suicides and 1,815 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 40.22 per 100,000 men and for women 7.39 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Ukraine suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,988 homicides in Ukraine, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.2 suicides.
