Of the 4,492 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 3,570 were men suicides and 922 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.42 per 100,000 men and for women 2.87 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United Kingdom suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 627 homicides in United Kingdom, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 7.2 suicides.
