There are 29 suicides per day in Thailand

In 2011 occurred 10,538 suicides in Thailand. This year, 21 more people committed suicide than in 2010. In 2011, on average 29 Thai committed suicide every day.

Thailand had 15.61 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 10,538 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 7,263 were men suicides and 3,275 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.55 per 100,000 men and for women 9.35 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 3,307 homicides in Thailand, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.2 suicides.
