In Thailand there were 15.65 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.89 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 10,517 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 7,312 were men suicides and 3,205 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.82 per 100,000 men and for women 9.22 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 3,654 homicides in Thailand, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.9 suicides.
