Of the 3,215 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 2,376 were men suicides and 839 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.42 per 100,000 men and for women 3.55 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Tanzania. However, in Tanzania in 2011 there were there were 4,149 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.3 homicides per suicide.
