Switzerland has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 1,513 recorded suicide cases in 1989, 1,063 were men suicides and 450 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 32.8 per 100,000 men and for women 13.2 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
