Sweden had 11.78 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,114 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 791 were men suicides and 323 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.78 per 100,000 men and for women 6.81 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sweden suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 81 homicides in Sweden, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 13.8 suicides.
