There are 11 suicides per day in Sudan

In 2010 around 3,928 suicides occurred in Sudan, 45 more than in 2009. In 2010, on average 11 Sudanese committed suicide every day.

Sudan reported 9.79 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.89 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,928 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 2,829 were men suicides and 1,099 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.75 per 100,000 men and for women 6.52 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sudan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,702 homicides in Sudan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.3 suicides.
