Spain has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 2,939 recorded suicide cases in 1990, 2,135 were men suicides and 804 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.2 per 100,000 men and for women 4.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Spain suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 484 homicides in Spain, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6.1 suicides.
