South Korea has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 15,906 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 10,866 were men suicides and 5,040 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 43.3 per 100,000 men and for women 20.3 per 100,000 female In spite of this, it is the country with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In South Korea suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 403 homicides in South Korea, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 39.5 suicides.
