There are 13 suicides per day in South Korea

In 1995 around 4,840 suicides occurred in South Korea, 628 more than in 1994. In 1995, on average 13 South Koreans committed suicide every day.

South Korea reported 10.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.58 self-harm per 100.000 people.

South Korea, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 4,840 recorded suicide cases in 1995, 3,319 were men suicides and 1,521 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.6 per 100,000 men and for women 6.8 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In South Korea suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 228 homicides in South Korea, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 21.2 suicides.
