Slovenia has a very high suicide rate

In 1989 occurred 676 suicides in Slovenia. This year, 44 more people committed suicide than in 1988. In Slovenia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Slovenia had 33.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 14.93 suicides per 100,000 people.

Slovenia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 676 recorded suicide cases in 1989, 515 were men suicides and 161 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 53.2 per 100,000 men and for women 15.7 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
