Suicides fell in Slovakia

By 2011, suicides in Slovakia increased by 95 people to at 536 suicides In Slovakia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Slovakia there were 10.32 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 536 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 471 were men suicides and 65 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.68 per 100,000 men and for women 2.38 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovakia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 96 homicides in Slovakia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.6 suicides.
