Serbia is a country with a high rate of suicide.
Of the 1,244 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 933 were men suicides and 311 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 26.67 per 100,000 men and for women 8.45 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Serbia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 110 homicides in Serbia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 11.3 suicides.
