Russia has a very high suicide rate

By 1996, suicides in Russia increased by 3,141 people to at 57,812 suicides In 1996, on average 158 Russians committed suicide every day.

Russia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

By comparison, there were 39,083 homicides in Russia, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.5 suicides.
