In 1992 occurred 5,713 suicides in Poland. This year, 397 more people committed suicide than in 1991. In 1992, on average 16 Poles committed suicide every day.

Poland had 14.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.38 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Poland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 5,713 recorded suicide cases in 1992, 4,732 were men suicides and 981 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 25.3 per 100,000 men and for women 5 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Poland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 857 homicides in Poland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6.7 suicides.
