Peru has the lowest suicide rate in the world

In 1995 occurred 368 suicides in Peru. This year, 51 more people committed suicide than in 1994. In Peru, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Peru had 1.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.58 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has the lowest suicide rate in the world.

Of the 368 recorded suicide cases in 1995, 231 were men suicides and 137 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.9 per 100,000 men and for women 1.1 per 100,000 female.
