Suicides fell in Norway

By 2012, suicides in Norway increased by 83 people to at 515 suicides In Norway, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Norway there were 10.34 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.87 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 515 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 369 were men suicides and 146 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.74 per 100,000 men and for women 5.88 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Norway suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 27 homicides in Norway, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 19.1 suicides.
