In New Zealander there were 11.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 493 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 377 were men suicides and 116 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.6 per 100,000 men and for women 5.2 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In New Zealander suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 39 homicides in New Zealander, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 12.6 suicides.
