In Nepal there were 6.48 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.87 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 1,750 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 908 were men suicides and 842 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.87 per 100,000 men and for women 5.96 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Nepal suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 642 homicides in Nepal, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.7 suicides.
