By 2011, suicides in Nepal increased by 19 people to at 1,753 suicides In 2011, on average 5 Nepali committed suicide every day.

In Nepal there were 6.48 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.82 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,753 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 907 were men suicides and 846 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.85 per 100,000 men and for women 6.03 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Nepal suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 679 homicides in Nepal, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
