Mongolia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 817 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 681 were men suicides and 136 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 49.84 per 100,000 men and for women 9.87 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mongolia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 266 homicides in Mongolia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.1 suicides.
