Mongolia has a very high suicide rate

By 2010, suicides in Mongolia increased by 180 people to at 893 suicides On average, there are 2 suicides per day.

In Mongolia there were 32.33 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.89 suicides per 100,000 people.

Mongolia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 893 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 737 were men suicides and 155 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 54.74 per 100,000 men and for women 11.47 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mongolia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 239 homicides in Mongolia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.7 suicides.
