Mexico had 4.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.87 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 5,549 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 4,357 were men suicides and 1,052 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.6 per 100,000 men and for women 1.8 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Mexico. However, in Mexico in 2012 there were there were 25,967 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 4.7 homicides per suicide.
