Mexico has a low suicide rate

By 1994, suicides in Mexico increased by 245 people to at 2,603 suicides In 1994, on average 7 Mexicans committed suicide every day.

In Mexico there were 2.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.83 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Mexico has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 2,603 recorded suicide cases in 1994, 2,210 were men suicides and 393 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5 per 100,000 men and for women 0.9 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Mexico. However, in Mexico in 1994 there were there were 15,839 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 6.1 homicides per suicide.
