Suicides fell in Mauritius

By 2010, suicides in Mauritius increased by 19 people to at 104 suicides

In Mauritius there were 8.31 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.89 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 104 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 81 were men suicides and 23 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.01 per 100,000 men and for women 3.67 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mauritius suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 33 homicides in Mauritius, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.2 suicides.
