Latvia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 757 recorded suicide cases in 1991, 578 were men suicides and 179 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 46.9 per 100,000 men and for women 12.6 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
