Suicides increase in Kuwait

In 2011 occurred 110 suicides in Kuwait. This year, 4 more people committed suicide than in 2010.

Kuwait had 2.97 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.82 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Kuwait, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 110 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 82 were men suicides and 27 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.6 per 100,000 men and for women 2.02 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kuwait suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 59 homicides in Kuwait, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.9 suicides.
