Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

By 2012, suicides in Kazakhstan increased by 143 people to at 4,002 suicides In 2012, on average 11 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

In Kazakhstan there were 23.66 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.87 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 4,002 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 3,295 were men suicides and 706 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 41.15 per 100,000 men and for women 8.04 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,266 homicides in Kazakhstan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.2 suicides.
