In 2012 around 227 suicides occurred in Jordan, 14 more than in 2011.
Jordan reported 2.81 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.87 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Jordan, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.
Of the 227 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 158 were men suicides and 70 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.26 per 100,000 men and for women 1.98 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Jordan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 168 homicides in Jordan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.4 suicides.
