Suicides decreased in Jordan

In 2011 around 213 suicides occurred in Jordan, 1 less than in 2010.

Jordan reported 2.78 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.82 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Jordan, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 213 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 148 were men suicides and 65 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.05 per 100,000 men and for women 1.89 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Jordan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 142 homicides in Jordan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.5 suicides.
