Israel has a low suicide rate

In 1996 around 306 suicides occurred in Israel, 54 less than in 1995.

Israel reported 5.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.06 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Israel has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 306 recorded suicide cases in 1996, 231 were men suicides and 75 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.2 per 100,000 men and for women 2.6 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Israel suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 117 homicides in Israel, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
