Suicides grow in Ireland

By 1990, suicides in Ireland increased by 56 people to at 334 suicides

In Ireland there were 9.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 14.95 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Ireland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 334 recorded suicide cases in 1990, 251 were men suicides and 83 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.4 per 100,000 men and for women 4.7 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Ireland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 17 homicides in Ireland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 19.6 suicides.
