There are 12 suicides per day in Iran

In 2010 around 4,522 suicides occurred in Iran, 1,570 less than in 2009. In 2010, on average 12 Iranians committed suicide every day.

Iran reported 6.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.89 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 4,522 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 2,903 were men suicides and 1,619 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.58 per 100,000 men and for women 4.37 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iran suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,215 homicides in Iran, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2 suicides.
