Of the 36 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 25 were men suicides and 11 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.54 per 100,000 men and for women 6.88 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iceland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1 homicides in Iceland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 36 suicides.
