Haiti - Intentional self-harm

By 2010, suicides in Haiti increased by 48 people to at 963 suicides On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

In Haiti there were 9.78 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.89 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 963 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 708 were men suicides and 255 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.48 per 100,000 men and for women 5.14 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Haiti suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 677 homicides in Haiti, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.4 suicides.
