Greece has a low suicide rate

In 1992 occurred 351 suicides in Greece. This year, 30 fewer people committed suicide than in 1991.

Greece had 3.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.38 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Greece has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 351 recorded suicide cases in 1992, 279 were men suicides and 72 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.4 per 100,000 men and for women 1.4 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Greece suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 137 homicides in Greece, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
