By 2012, suicides in Germany increased by 214 people to at 9,952 suicides In 2012, on average 27 Germans committed suicide every day.

In Germany there were 12.39 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.87 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 9,952 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 7,336 were men suicides and 2,616 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.69 per 100,000 men and for women 6.37 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 659 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 15.1 suicides.
