In 1993 occurred 12,690 suicides in Germany. This year, 768 fewer people committed suicide than in 1992. In 1993, on average 35 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany had 15.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.86 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Germany is a country with a high rate of suicide.

Of the 12,690 recorded suicide cases in 1993, 8,960 were men suicides and 3,730 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.7 per 100,000 men and for women 8.9 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,348 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 9.4 suicides.
