Of the 924 recorded suicide cases in 1995, 625 were men suicides and 299 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 24.2 per 100,000 men and for women 11.3 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Denmark suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 59 homicides in Denmark, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 15.7 suicides.
