Cuba had 14.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.82 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,604 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 1,271 were men suicides and 333 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.54 per 100,000 men and for women 5.88 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cuba suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 534 homicides in Cuba, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3 suicides.
