By 2010, suicides in Bolivia increased by 25 people to at 2,036 suicides In 2010, on average 6 Bolivians committed suicide every day.

In Bolivia there were 20.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.89 suicides per 100,000 people.

Bolivia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 2,036 recorded suicide cases in 2010, 1,313 were men suicides and 724 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 25.49 per 100,000 men and for women 14.27 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bolivia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,273 homicides in Bolivia, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.6 suicides.
