Of the 2,580 recorded suicide cases in 2012, 1,930 were men suicides and 650 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.1 per 100,000 men and for women 5.7 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Australia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 243 homicides in Australia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.6 suicides.
