Of the 4,533 recorded suicide cases in 2011, 3,264 were men suicides and 1,269 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.3 per 100,000 men and for women 10.32 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Angola suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,055 homicides in Angola, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.3 suicides.
